Reviews
“The Road between Two Skies” is wonderful, thoughtful and a real page turner. I have just finished reading it and wanted you to know how much I enjoyed it. The story of Brenniss/Maggie was so skilfully and sympathetically written, the pages on the various investigations kept my interest throughout and all the minor characters their own story to tell. Brenniss was also blessed with a wise, self-effacing mother.
The use of flashbacks can sometimes lead to an interruption of the narrative flow, but in this case they served to carry the story forward, revealing more of the New York life that Brenniss had been living before her life changed forever.
At a deeper level, this superb book brings to the reader’s attention the question of how we would cope if our lives were to be suddenly altered out of all recognition and how we would develop after a life-changing event – would we embrace the present or cling to the past?
As when completing all the best novels, I have today bade farewell to Brenniss with the greatest reluctance. How I envy all those who have yet to read this book.
